The lifting chain is used for the connection between various lifting equipment and heavy objects. It is composed of metal chain chains, which play the role of lifting, traction, transmission and fixing. During using, it will receive a lot of pulling. Force and friction will reduce the anti-wear ability and load-bearing capacity of the lifting chain to a certain extent, and eventually the problems such as deformation or breakage of the lifting chain will occur.
Common heat treatment methods for lifting chains: annealing, normalizing, quenching, tempering, carburizing, nitriding, carbonitriding, boronizing.
Annealing process is heating the workpiece to 30-50 degrees above Ac3, after holding for a certain period of time, slowly cooling to 500 degrees with the furnace and cooling in space. Normalizing process is an operation in which the steel is heated to above Ac3 or Acm, taken out of the furnace after heat preservation, and cooled in air. Tempering process is a heat treatment process in which the quenched steel is reheated to a temperature below Ac1, and then cooled to room temperature after heat preservation. Quenching process is heating steel parts to above Ac3 or Ac1, and then rapidly cooled in a cooling liquid such as water or oil after heat preservation, and an unstable structure has been obtained.
Some chains are subjected to alternating loads such as torsion and bending, and impact loads when the workpiece is in the workpiece, and its surface layer bears a higher stress than the core. In the case of friction, the surface layer is constantly worn, so some chain surface layers are required to have high strength, high hardness, high wear resistance and high fatigue limit. Only surface strengthening can meet these requirements.
