The purpose and requirements of melting steel are.
1, To melt the steel material into a steel liquid and increase its super-heating temperature to ensure the pouring needs.
2, To control the content of silicon, manganese and carbon (and alloying elements) in the molten steel within the prescribed limits.
3, Reduce the harmful elements sulphur and phosphorus in the molten steel to a level below the prescribed limit.
4, Remove non-metallic inclusions and gases from the molten steel so that the molten steel is pure.

ROCHO INDUCTION offers different types of steel melting furnaces, medium frequency induction furnaces, flat furnaces, electric arc furnaces and ladle refineries, to suit the different output and technical requirements of our customers.

Medium frequency induction furnaces can melt a wide range of high-grade alloy steels and steels with very low carbon content. Depending on the capacity (crucible diameter) of the furnace, induction furnaces are used at different frequencies, with high frequencies (above 10,000 Hz) for capacities of around 10 kg, medium frequencies (1000-3000 Hz) for capacities from 100 to 500 kg and industrial frequencies (50Hz) for capacities above 500 kg. Flat furnaces use gas or heavy oil as fuel, mixed with preheated air supply, combustion, the resulting flame is directly sprayed on the charge, heating and melting, because it is heated by flame, so the furnace gas is oxidative, the process of steel making elemental burn loss than the heavy electric furnace, flat furnace capacity, flat furnaces with large capacity (generally since tens of tons to hundreds of tons), can use scrap steel as raw materials, can accurately control the composition of steel and can melt High quality steel and low alloy steel, mostly used for melting high quality requirements, large pouring heavy castings with steel.

The three-phase electric arc furnace uses the heat generated by the electric arc to melt the charge and raise the super-heating temperature of the steel. As the electric arc furnace is not heated by fuel combustion, it is easy to control the nature of the furnace gas. It can be made oxidising or reducing according to the requirements of the smelting.

The three-phase electric arc furnace is easy to start and stop operation, to ensure the composition and quality of the steel, easy to heat up, so it can refine high-quality steel, advanced alloy steel and special steel, etc., is a common equipment for the production of forming cast steel parts.

Ladle refining furnace is used to melt the furnace charge with an electric arc furnace, then pour the steel into the ladle refining furnace, with argon for blowing, can effectively remove the gas and inclusions in the molten steel, improve the quality of the molten steel. In the ladle refining furnace based on the development of argon oxygen decarburisation (AOD) method and vacuum argon oxygen decarburisation (VOD) method is smelting high purity steel, especially low carbon high purity steel advanced method, especially for the production of high strength steel, ultra-high strength steel and other steel grades.
